Diving
I love snorkelling, the minute my head is underwater I have entered another world. I find myself giving hand signals to my husband, when I could easily just lift my head out of the water and talk, but I get so engrosed that I feel I am underwater swimming in the fishes world, I love it. The next step was Scuba Diving, and I qualified in my Open Water Scuba Diving PADI certificate in November 2018. Summer 2019 I undertook and gained my Advanced Diving qualification and in 2022 the SSI Independent Solo Diver course. (I say I, but it is "We" as I always dive with my husband as buddies, which is what makes it even more enjoyable and special to share the experiences together)
My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have travelled to some (not many as we both still work full time) amazing diving destinations across the world. Diving allows you the privilege of being able to get up close to some incredible sea creatures and experience the ocean from a totally different perspective.
Whilst underwater I am constantly in awe and inspired by the beauty of all of the spectacular species and diversity of sea life. To see an octopus change colours in front of my eyes and to be almost invisible camouflaged against the rocks made me smile and almost choke with glee.
My passion comes through from the photography in the Gyotaku art, drawings and painting. At some point when I have more time I also hope to experiment more with sculpture too.
