Giclée Prints

"Giclée" is based on the French word gicleur which is the French technical term for a jet or nozzle, it literally means to squirt, spray or spout. By using this technique fine-art printing can be created on a variety of different substrates. Combining pigment based inks with superior quality paper allows me as an artist to create high quality, vibrant, durable prints.

All original Gyotaku images can be reproduced as limited editions Giclée prints - original size, or sizes can vary to suit your requirements.

Please note, the images in real life look almost identical to the original works of Art, but are on high quality water colour paper. Colour and brightness is exaggerated on the website to be able to show a difference to what is available as limited edition prints. Some images have been put together from two or more originals. Please see example below of "Triple Bug Eye" which is a combination of scans from 3 original drawings:

Tripple Bug Eye
Bug Eye, John Dory + Yellow Fin Snapper
Little Green Parrot Fish, Bug Eye + Black Rabbit Fish
Little Blue Parrot Fish, Butter Fish + B

Three Bug Eyes are scanned and then manipulated in photoshop to created "Tripple Bug Eye" which can be printed as a limited edition Giclée print.
